Just to let you know many thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Many thanked me for letting them know in church and said they were wishing you all the best.. . I'm sure I would feel better with a second opinion. Hope you find some answers in Rochester!

Your advice is spot on. Breaking down your long runs (or even those boring treadmill runs) into smaller intervals/goals is one of the best options. Also, the clothing can make a difference. I used to wear a hat while running on the treadmill, as I always wore a hat on race days; they can really collect a lot of moisture. Music can be a good motivator too. Good luck!

I have parents that show up with either a Nook each or a laptop. So I keep the DHCP open and don't enable the MAC filter. Turning that on and off for just their devices would be a pain, but if you know what devices are going to be on your network...the MAC filter and Static addressing is good.

I was also just providing steps for those who would mainly use the firmware that is on the routers sold by Best Buy, Target, Staples and so on. If a more detailed administration is needed, I would recommend a open source firmware or higher grade router.

Thanks for the comment Andrew.

Nice article about protecting your network over wireless. At my home, I do a lot of wireless sharing with laptops, printers, phones, tablets, and home media devices. The wireless is shared between four people, and initially I was only using WPA2 (suggested by your previous tech note) and DHCP. For the fun of it, I restricted the routers NAT and Wireless by MAC address, and removed DHCP from the equation and manually assign MAC addresses an IP; I also continue to use WPA2. It does take extra time to add a new device to the network, but I feel very secure. I never did think about MAC spoofing, but I suppose the WPA2 is also a strong layer of protection.

You know whenever I go over to grandma's house to grab the mower or some tool to do something I always get a tid bit of info from grandma about grandpa and how he would do the things I was about to do. Makes me think about him a lot and how he was always willing to help anyone with anything.
